Fix guide

Make your restaurant’s phone number tappable on mobile

On a phone, your number is plain text. A guest who wants to call has to copy it, switch apps and paste it — or give up.

Why it matters

Most people who look a restaurant up on their phone want to call, get directions or order. A tap-to-call link removes a step from the most valuable of those.

How to fix it

  1. Copy the code below.
  2. Replace the plain-text phone number with it everywhere it appears, especially the header and footer.
  3. Test it on your own phone.

The code

This is the fix our audit generated for a sample restaurant. Run the audit on your own site and the fix pack fills in your name, address, phone and hours for you. Anything in CAPITALS is a value we couldn’t find — fill it in, never guess.

Where it goes: Wherever your phone number appears, especially the header and footer.
